A More Colorful Game
Most of you have heard by now of the recent "out-of-the-closet"-edness of former basketball player John Amaechi. I've heard about it, and I'm not even a very big fan. Regardless of his preferences, he has been doing wonders for my fantasy league (gays have magical powers!). This really shouldn't come as a big shock to you. The history of the NBA has been dealing with homosexuality for quite some time now. They have tried many different ways of bringing to the public's attention, but this is the first time someone has announced it publicly. Let's take a look back into the not so distant past to see who else we have suspected as a homer:
Name: Magic Johnson
Preference: Bisexual
Evidence:Seen her recruiting for gaykind; susceptibility to illness.
Name: Puff Daddy
Preference: Bisexual (experimenting)
Evidence: Hasn't yet been confirmed, basing on America's opinions.
Name: Wake Forest Demon Deacon
Preference: Neither--youth
Evidence: Was given the name "Deacon" by his close friends of the cloth, the Catholic clergy. See preference.
Name: Duke Mascot (also moonlights as the Hamburgler for birthday parties.)
Preference: Wake Forest Demon Deacon and anyone else resembling Mr. Peanut. See above.
Evidence: Flare for the extravagant. Excellent tumbler.
Name: Duke Mascot (also moonlights as the Hamburgler for birthday parties.)

Preference: Each other
Evidence: Their music is gay. Their make up is gay. Their clothes are gay. Enough said.
Moral of the story: we have been surrounded by them for years, and maybe even applauded some of their efforts. They aren't going away, so let's celebrate their accomplishments with them. ...from a safe distance.

One more notch on the tag......
Looks like we did it folks! Yep that's right Jeff. One more notch on the tag. I figure that's what it's all about right. Words of wisdom from a wise brother before I left have carried me through this mission. Those word being nothing more that "Do what I did, I made it to the top of my mission!" Truly inspiring. And they have been true up until now. To put the cherry on top was the following "don't listen to what Brett and Brandon say, you saw how much they accomplished." I am very thankful to be surrounded by people with such inspiring input. I have strived up until this day to follow this counsel and I have seen nothing but results. Thanks. Thanks to the man who did it all and lived to tell me about it. This ones for you Jeff!!
And for you that are worried about me and my companion. You deffinitely should be......

"Grolland"
Last weekend cousins Holl and Grant met for the first time, kind of: this was one of the few moments they were both awake at the same time. They tag-teamed naps the whole weekend. While watching them together Anna and I decided that together, should we combine them into one baby, they would make The Perfect Baby. Adding Grant's uncanny ability to sleep all night, crawl at such an early age, and give great slobbery kisses to Holland's talents of being able to wave, take long naps and go to sleep on her own; that right there is the definition of the perfect baby. Grolland. Sounds like a Lord of the Rings character, but I can't remember which one.

Gollum returns
Since Brandon and Anna took my precious away from me, I have returned to my reclusive form, plotting revenge and malice upon those who have dealt me such an unjust demise. In the meantime, I will watch from a distance, waiting for my opportunity to pounce upon the object of my every desire . . . the ring of the sole administrator.
Anziano Shirley's companion takes it too far!
I have only met a few Argentinian people in my life, but unlike Jason, I have never lived with one. Basing my stereotype of this culture off Jason's emails, and what I have witnessed myself, they seem like a contact heavy kind of culture. Hand-shake, shmand-shake; these real men hug! We have heard about Jason's unease with his companion, but it's obvious he's trying to downplay the severity of it all to keep us from worrying. Well, I'm sorry to have broken his trust, but I can't sit on this any longer.
Last week, he sent me an email swearing my trust to keep this confidential. He included this picture (...courtesy Getty Images) of how his companion conducts his morning study. Jason claims, "Every morning, he wakes up early, changes into his study clothes (shown above) and makes me, what he calls, a "plato del desayuno de la cara feliz," (translated; happy-face breakfast platter). I cry as he massages my shoulders and makes me eat it. I have to tell someone, so I'm letting you know because you asked. Please don't tell Mom."
Spelling and grammer have been corrected by Brett for clearer legibility.
Jason, I can sympathize. I had a couple pseudo-flamers as comps myself. It's a good thing transfers are coming soon. Hang in there.

No Visits Required but a Comment Would Be Nice
I can see by the lack of comments on my last blog that cartoon representations don't elicit the kind of sympathy I need. So I'll put things more into perspective.
The picture on the right is me. I've been too embarrassed to show myself, but it takes great weight off my chest to get it out there (it's already weak and small as it is). As you can see, the illness severely disfigured my body. I'm now a shell of the amazing ping pong champion with thick wavy hair and moves as tight as my stomach I once was.
The picture above is a couple of days old. I'm doing much better now as you can see by the picture on the left. However, I haven't been eating much lately and my weight has dropped well below "sa skinny." My once golden tan is more of a pale white and my chest is smaller than ever. Despite the disfigurement, and the severe weight loss, I maintain my resolve to live! And since the air here has cleared up, I have been able to get back to walking down hills and singing cheerfully to myself. It's what gets me through posts with no comments.
