Obssezzion?

I find it very interesting that Jeff makes posts about sleeping thru conference, watching Lost, and eating big burgers, yet fails to announce his upcoming wedding. I don't think Ashleigh's photo has debuted on this blog, yet we currently host a dozen photos of the stadium formerly known as the Delta Center. Frankly I'm surprised the wedding isn't being held during half-time of a Jazz game, but then again maybe there wasn't a game being played on 07/07/07. I guess that would explain it.

Flag Man

This picture rules! Look up from the scorer's table and check me out when I was on flag duty. While I was walking out this kid yelled, "Hey, it's the flag guy!"

Can you find me?

Here's a pic taken from the upper bowl that I stole from another site, look for the two idiots swinging towels in the lower bowl up from the scorer's table. For those who are slow (Brett), I circled us to help you.

MORE JAZZ

Here's a picture of the flag I brought to the game. It extended about 15 feet, and I waved it during timeouts and quarter breaks. How come I'm not on Larry Miller's payroll?

JAZZ MANIA

Here's some pics of the last couple of Jazz playoff games that I went to with my friend Shaun. As you can see, we were decked out in Jazz gear, which helped us get on tv 5 times and on the Jumbo Tron about 9 times. It freaking ruled! This is also a reminder that the playoffs are actually going on right now, since Brett, Brandon, and Jenna have no freaking clue what the playoffs are.

It'll Be Interesting to See How You Work This Out

I have finally received responses from all the law schools I had picked. Contrary to Dad's advice, making the choice did not require a sheet, divided in the middle with pros on one side and cons on the other. With the exception of Indiana University and an unknown school in Florida, they all said no. I felt like Homer Simpson as he goes through the the stack of responses to colleges he applies to: "D'oh! D'oh D'oh! D'oh! wahoo! A flyer for a hardware store! D'oh!" We can't go to Forida. Though we are interested in things that old people like to do, like visiting historical sites instead of hanging out on the beach and wishing that we could spend the month of August aboard a clipper ship exploring the coasts of Croatia and Italy with Diane Rehm, we are not ready to live amongst them. So we are officially moving to Indianapolis at the end of summer for a three year adventure. Who knows, we may get sucked into the race car culture and end up wanting to stay. If that's the case, it should be interesting to see how we work that out.

More pics

If you look closely, Dad had a huge drink stain on his shirt and yes, I gave him hell for it.

Where the hell is the grass?

Dad and I visited Mom on Sunday, she looked good and seemed upbeat. It was great to see her and well, here they are. Oh and if you're asking why there's no grass, I have no *$&#^#& idea.

Can they be any more adorable?

Osama Bin L'Alan and Jeffli Khan

As a devout Muslim, I decided to follow after my Islamic mentor, Alan, and start growing out my beard. How does it look? Alan told me several times that people have made fun of him by calling him 'Arab' and recently his boss asked him, "Who are you trying to be, Osama bin Laden?" Although Alan and I are devout in our Muslimic faith, we hope people don't judge us based on what has been happening recently. We would like to take this opportunity to come forth to proclaim our innocence and hope people will not shun us due to Middle Eastern background. Alan and I immigrated from Iraq to this country in 1994. During that time, we have lived a peaceful life, free from the war torn, hate filled countryland we escaped from. We hope each of us can help end this violence and do our part to spread love instead of hate.

Jeff's "Lost" it

Since I don't have Blake's photo shop skills, I'll have to post this without any visuals. We're already aware of Jeff's eerie similarities with Sawyer on Lost. I found it interesting watching last night that Sawyer got himself a girlfriend right around the time Jeff did. And Ashleigh kind of looks like Kate. Did you make Ashleigh a mixed tape yet or better yet, dig up the diamonds you stole from that random couple on the island?

Jirk Shirlwitzski

I thought I would try photo-shopping Jeff's face on somebody since he's so happy to do it to ours. Try and beat this Jeff - you can't even see any lines or color mismatches, a perfect blend. You can't even tell where Jeff's face begins and Dirk Nowitzki's body begins. Plus it didn't even take me that long. I should work for Industrial Light and Magic. Just think of what I could do with proper high end computers and special effect software.

My old friend Lost

I guess it's Brett's turn to be depicted as Lost character, I know, you're thinking, "Does Jeff have a life at all outside of Lost and the Jazz?" My answer is no, so quit asking. During my bout with stomach flu all day today, (which I was grateful for Asheigh for bringing me juice and soup) I had a chance to get reacquainted with an old friend, Lost, as I watched a few episodes in between my visits to the toilet all day. All told, I threw up about 8 times, and I won't even mention what else was coming out the other end. I knew I was screwed when Alan told me Wednesday, "We've been throwing up all week." Thanks Alan. Back to Brett, there are some similarities between he and Charlie. First, Charlie is really strange and not a lot of people understand him, and he's misunderstood in a way much similar to Brett. He also says really dumb things sometimes that only he finds funny. Heck, they even have the same crappy beard. Plus I don't really like Charlie so that's why it reminds me of my relationship with Brett. As for my stomach virus, it's finally subsided, so tomorrow I'll get reacquainted with another friend, food.

Culinary Delight

Brandon made dinner for me tonight. It was no ordinary crab cake. As you can see he fashioned the tomatoes and crab cake to actually resemble a crab. Conner's got to see this.

Pit Stop My Heart

Since none of us will be receiving a "Pit Stop Pete" for Easter this year, I took the initiative to continue this important Shirley tradition by giving you a visual reminder. Now that I've done my part, you all need to do yours. Find a "Pit Stop Pete" or "Pit Stop She'te" for the ladies, and eat as much as you can for breakfast. In fact, this hollow confectionery should replace breakfast and lunch and dinner altogether. Don't bother saving the eyes, the bow tie, and hubcaps for last. Though they may look enticing, they are the worst part of the experience. They're made of "Peeps" rejects-particularly the ones that exceed their 10 year shelf life or get poked by curious passersby.

Brandon's man crush

After my last post, Brandon called to voice his displeasure about being compared to John Locke, and after rethinking it, I probably misjudged Brandon's ability to lead this family in a way very similar to another character, Jack. After discussing this with Anna, she informed me of Brandon's apparent infatuation for Jack, and she actually referred to it as a 'man crush.' I'm just waiting for Brandon to call up and invite me to go rock climbing with he and Jack; I just hope he remembers to bring his sandwiches, and most of all, how to tie a secure knot.

Hack-n-Whack 2007

I recently played in annual Hack-n-Whack golf tournament sponsored by my office. We played the front nine at the Rio Salado golf course on a beautiful day - in February. And what were all you northern folk doing in February? Not playing golf, that's for sure. The tournament field of golfers was sparce - totaling seven employees from my office. I had a feeling before the match that I had a good chance to win. Maybe it was because I knew 5 of the 6 other players had never really played golf. I only play maybe twice a year, but I have been playing twice a year for many years, so I know how to hack and whack the ball around. I went on to play the my best round of golf ever, recording an honest birdie on the first hole and a couple pars along the way, but a couple triple bogeys set my final score at 8 over par, but it was good enough to take home the championship. Living in golf heaven, I decided I should play a lot more.
If you look closely, you'll notice that the ball didn't go anywhere, but I'm pretty sure this was a practice swing before actually stepping up and hitting the ball as I don't remember having any 'whiffs'.

Locke: The man, the mystery

I thought I'd vent some frustrations I have each week as I watch my favorite show, Lost. I'll just put it bluntly, I cannot stand John Locke. He thinks he knows everything, whether it's how to hunt, how to raise children, or the intricacies of war strategy. I was just wondering, where did he learn all this? As a regional sales rep. for a box company? There's just something about him that I've never liked from the beginning, plus he just has a look about him that's extremely suspicious. Brandon, you've always talked about how much you like him, any thoughts?

Happy Birthday to Me

It must have been a special occasion today, as I found myself again polishing off the rest of a pie directly from the tin, while sitting on the couch. It was my birthday pie (strawberry) that Jenna spent hours preparing to buy from Fry's Supermarket. And it was dee-lish. It did bring back memories of the banana cream pie I polished off at the end of the Thanksgiving holiday. Yeah, I'm losing weight...starting tomorrow. SMIL! It's my birthday.

Blake visits Hawaii for his birthday

I heard that Blake got to go to Hawaii for his birthday, and he didn't invite any of us! Thanks a lot, I'm just glad you found your way around the island without the others disrupting your birthday celebration.
