The Waiting isn't the Hardest Part

After driving another 500+ miles across the great plains, we arrived safely in Davenport, Iowa. The second leg of the trip was much more exciting than the first. We saw such things as trees, lakes, happy cows, a burning house with no firemen or crowds, and ethanol fuel stations. We didn't dare put any pure ethanol in our car-we were already scared that it was going to break down on the way there so we didn't want to take any unnecessary chances. Finally, among the most perplexing trucker T-shirts I saw read the following, "Women, you can't live with them and you can't bury them in the back yard without your neighbors calling the cops."- quite the lose-lose situation. This trip went surprisingly fast and it was a learning experience for all. Things that were learned included: 1) if you're going to spend money upgrading a car it should first be spent on an engine inspection rather than new rims 2) communication is always a plus, especially when you make great efforts to drive across the country 3) the Mississippi really is the biggest river I've ever seen 4) when enough young single guys get together, the only thing worth keeping clean in the apartment is the area around the X-Box. Luckily, Jason doesn't have to live in the apartment he was originally scheduled for, that place was an absolute dump. Bulgarian gypsies wouldn't touch that place. Things that we would like to learn: 1) How Dish Network can make so much money without any kind of organization whatsoever. I'm in the Moline, IL airport for the next couple of hours. I got here five hours early because I need to surround myself with stability and organization. Coming from a Shirley, that statement should come as a surprise to most of you.

Brandon didn't update everyone that he finally arrived at his destination around 3 AM. Best trip ever. Since Brandon is devoid of emotion - I cried for him.

so he did arrive? I thought he was still out there somewhere waiting for his car rental.
